Granola is designed for professionals who live in back-to-back meetings and need accurate, shareable notes without the social friction of visible recording bots. Rather than joining your call as a participant, Granola runs quietly in the background, capturing your device audio locally and transcribing in real time. The audio file is discarded after processing — only the transcript and your notes persist.

The workflow is built around a hybrid human-AI model. During a meeting, you jot down quick keywords or bullet points at key moments. When the call ends, clicking "Enhance Notes" triggers Granola's AI — powered by both GPT-4o and Claude — to flesh out your sparse notes into structured summaries, action items, decisions, and key quotes. AI-generated content appears in gray text while your original notes remain in black, creating a clearly verifiable human-AI document.

Granola supports Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams, and achieves 90–92% transcription accuracy across 10+ languages. Its Recipes feature lets you apply AI summary templates that reshape raw notes into whatever format your workflow requires: a sales call debrief, a product spec, an investor update. You can use built-in templates or build your own.

For teams, Spaces and Folders allow collaborative note workspaces with granular access controls. Cross-meeting queries let you ask questions across a folder of meetings — useful for tracking evolving customer conversations or preparing for recurring reviews. Granola integrates with Notion, Slack, HubSpot, Attio, Affinity, and Zapier, and added an MCP server in early 2026 for AI workflow integration.

Founded in 2023, Granola raised a $125M Series C from Index Ventures and Kleiner Perkins in March 2026, reaching a $1.5B valuation. The company is on track to become the default meeting intelligence layer for enterprise teams that prioritize privacy and clean AI-enhanced notes.
