Klap is an AI video repurposing tool that automatically extracts the most engaging short clips from longer videos — podcasts, interviews, webinars, YouTube videos — and formats them for vertical social media platforms. Upload a long video and Klap identifies the moments most likely to drive engagement, crops them for TikTok/Shorts/Reels, adds captions, and produces ready-to-publish clips.

**Clip detection:** Klap's AI watches for engagement signals — topic changes, strong claims, storytelling moments, humor, and emotional peaks — to identify the strongest clips within longer content. It typically extracts 5-15 potential clips per video with score estimates for each, ordered by predicted engagement potential.

**Auto-captions:** Every clip gets word-by-word animated captions with customizable styling — font, color, size, background, animation type. Captions are generated from AI transcription and are editable before export. This feature is essential for social media content where most viewers watch without audio.

**Smart reframing:** Long-form videos are typically landscape (16:9). Klap automatically detects and tracks the active speaker, reframing to vertical (9:16) with the subject centered throughout. Multi-speaker detection switches focus as speakers change.

**Editing interface:** After generation, a lightweight editor lets you adjust clip start/end points, modify captions, add an intro/outro, overlay a logo, and fine-tune the crop. Edits are quick — the goal is refinement, not full production.

**Output formats:** Export to 1080p vertical for TikTok and Reels, or horizontal for YouTube. Direct publishing integrations to TikTok and YouTube are available.
